Safeguarding policy
Every child’s safety comes first. This policy follows the Department for Education’s code of practice for out-of-school settings.
Who is responsible
- Designated safeguarding lead: Saima Ghazanfar (Founder & Safeguarding Lead), DBS checked.
- Contact for any concern: hello@trackmymaths.co.uk or WhatsApp 07467 151915. Concerns are handled personally by Saima Ghazanfar.
How online classes run
- Classes are live, in small groups, on Google Meet. Group sessions only, and every session is hosted by Saima Ghazanfar. Parents can sit in on any session.
- Cameras are optional for students.
- There is no private one-to-one messaging between the tutor and a student. Messages go through the parent account.
- Classes are recorded only with parental consent. Recordings are stored securely in the UK and shared only with that group and their parents.
- Students are expected to be respectful; any bullying or inappropriate behaviour ends the student’s place in that class and is discussed with parents.
If there is a concern
- Any concern about a child’s welfare is recorded and passed to the safeguarding lead the same day.
- Where a child may be at risk of harm, we contact the local authority children’s services or, in an emergency, the police on 999.
- Parents and students can raise a concern at any time using the contacts above, or with the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000.
Review
This policy is reviewed every year, or sooner if the law or guidance changes.
